Hi there. Welcome to the State Employees Credit Union’s newly redesigned blog (you may have noticed things were a little different around here. Lookin’ good, right?) I’m your humble host, Lilly Prince. I’m a Santa Fe-based writer, blogger, and copy editor, and am grateful to have been given the opportunity to be the voice of SECU’s new blog.
The plan here is to blog in a fresh voice about smart financial management and money-saving advice, and of course, all things New Mexico. A central part of SECU’s mission is to provide New Mexicans with exceptional, personalized service, and while SECU’s offerings clearly reflect this, another important component is fostering community, and making members feel like their financial institution knows who they are and where they come from.
I myself come from New Mexico—I’m a 20+ year native, graduate of the University of New Mexico (English and Poli Sci, in case you were wondering), and carne adovada is my favorite breakfast food. (Yes, there will be a “You Know You’re New Mexican When…” on this blog at some point). I spent a few years in Boston learning all about communications and marketing, and am excited to have brought back what I learned to the Land of Enchantment. New Mexico is such a unique place that I can’t see myself being anywhere else.
I plan to bring my love of New Mexico’s culture (and food!) to you, SECU members, and hopefully kickstart conversations about our great state, and how SECU can better serve its membership. In addition to financial management, I’ll be blogging about local businesses, events, and the SECU family, a/k/a staff. The stories are going to Fresh. (So fresh, it had to be capitalized.)
I would love nothing more than for you, reader, to add this blog to your RSS feed, leave comments, and ultimately feel like this a community to share your thoughts and ideas. Like, if you want to tell me in 500-words how much you love green chile, please feel free. There will definitely be green chile posts on here.
If you want to send me some love privately, too, you can do that by emailing me at lilly.prince12@gmail.com. You can also find me on Twitter: @lilly_prince12.
OK, that’s all for now. Thanks for taking the time to read and allowing me to introduce myself. Check back regularly for more fresh new posts. I look forward to engaging with you.
