Deanna Montoya is the owner of Extreme Fitness in Belen and a lifelong resident of the area. A dental hygienist by trade, Deanna is in the process of purchasing a dental practice, continuing to build her fitness club, and being an active member of the community.
Deanna’s passion for fitness began when she was 32. As a mother to four kids, she realized that losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle – and the extra energy that comes with it – was vital to her being able to keep up with her kids and their busy schedules. She began competing in body building competitions and opened Extreme Fitness six years ago.
A small group fitness center, Extreme Fitness offers Zumba, spin, rip, and circuit training classes. Instructors are certified in each medium and offer personal support for members throughout their journey to get fit. The club also hosts weight loss challenges two or three times a year.
Through Extreme Fitness, Deanna also hosts community fundraisers. Primarily with Zumba events, she has raised money for breast cancer awareness and individuals in the community who need assistance with medical bills.
Deanna has been an SECU member for more than 25 years. At 19, Deanna hadn’t always made the best financial choices. Her credit wasn’t perfect, but she needed a new car. She went to SECU, where a representative not only helped her get the loan she needed for a car, but also helped her clean up her credit and begin making smart financial decisions. She hasn’t banked anywhere else since.
“I love SECU. They know me and my business, there are never any lines, and they bend over backwards to help their members.”
