We use our smartphones for everything; playing games, taking pictures, keeping a calendar, and more. There are thousands of apps out there, designed to help us stay organized, have fun, and stay in touch. It’s no surprise that some of the most popular and most-downloaded apps are those that help us save money.
We’ve written about money-saving apps before, and wanted to expand upon that list.
We still love groupon.com, mint.com, and gasbuddy, but we wanted to branch out a bit and find some additional apps that will help you save money on a variety of purchases.
If you join a lot of reward programs for your favorite stores, it can become cumbersome to keep track of the various cards or small keychain cards. Cardstar combines all of your membership cards, and retailers can scan the codes directly from your phone.

If you have travel plans or are on a road trip, Hotel Tonight can help you find cheap rooms. You can specify your destination and what kind of hotel you’d like (i.e. luxury or economy) and the app will provide a list of cheap rooms, along with photos and a list of amenities.

If you find yourself spending a lot of money on prescriptions, you may be surprised to know that there are ways to save on them. The app can also send your reminders about when to refill your prescriptions and also of any price changes.
